Who is a CRETIN?

In case you're not familiar with the nuances of the word 'cretin', it originated in France a couple of centuries ago, and was created to 'humanize' the way people thought of Christians who lived in the nearby mountains. The dictionary** defines  cretin  as a deformed, demented, retarded Christian idiot. What would their philosophical/ genetic ancestors feel about their trying to eliminate 'Secular Humanists' - the only movement that supported and provided comfort to them? So ungrateful of them . . .
